Welcome to the North Central Information Center,

an open-minded, and caring community of inquirers, thinkers and communicators.

The Information Center is the place for North Central students to request or check out print or audio books, work on projects, or receive instruction on research or technology products. Electronic resources are available 24/7.  For school-specific database login info, go to the MSDWT Canvas course "NC Information Center 2019-20."

Students are welcome before school (upper level); during lunch (lower level); with a class (either level); and during study hall (generally upper level).

Teacher-librarians Helene Achgill and Lee Toussant, and Information Center support staff, work closely with faculty, staff and administration to support students' needs.

The Information Center supports the mission of Washington Township Schools:

to develop life-long learners and globally minded citizens by fostering the academic, creative, and social skills needed to achieve excellence in a multi-cultural environment.

How does a student access the IC?

Have your current NC student ID available.  Study hall visitors also need to bring a pass from a teacher assigning work that requires a computer.

May I meet my friends in the IC during lunch?

Yes, as long as you all have the same lunch period. The lower IC is usually open for lunch visitors. Food must stay in the cafeteria. See the Essential Agreements for Lunch Visitors for more information.

Aren't the IC and LC the same place?

No.  The IC is the Information Center, which includes both levels of the library.  The LC is the Learning Center, in A502, where tutors work with students during the school day.

What is the After School Learning Center?

The LC tutors move to the upper IC after school.  The ASLC operates Monday - Thursday from 2:40-4:15. The ASLC is NOT OPEN the first week of the semester or the first day after a school break.
